Hello friends and welcome to my stop on Day 3 of the “Tantalizing Table Toppers” Book Tour with the amazing Pat Sloan!

Every time Pat contacts me it brightens my day! I love her personality and after these years I can definitely call her my friend. She is always there, I honestly don’t know how she manages to get ALL her work done, plus answer all your questions on her social media (she really answers!) plus my chats too :)

I love to work with other artist’s collaborations, especially with someone that inspires me so much like her. We did partner up with some work together before, like in the April Aurifil Designer of the Month (2020) and my participation as a guest on her Podcast with American Patchwork and Quilting (2018). I have the feeling that it always brings the best of me and as an artist I truly love every opportunity to grow.

When Pat wrote to me about the Book Tour it was very exciting, it is a wonderful book with so many great projects. I like to work with pattern designs that give me the space to be creative even while following exactly the directions of the pattern, like fussy cutting my precious fabric and mix and matching different collections. Because usually this is the way we are quilting at home most of the time.

“Tantalizing Table Toppers” is your new book must have. First you will probably find it very difficult to choose between all the amazing patterns. It was really a challenge to me, initially I was considering the “Italian Café” table runner and then I changed my mind to the “Family Gathering” table topper pattern, because I noticed that it was the perfect pattern to fussy cut the “Nonna” collection from Giuseppe Ribaldo from Andover Fabrics that I was hoarding for months!

When you have an international family (we are actually living in our third continent of the world), friends become family and the gatherings are certainly bold in colors, prints, a mix of different languages and a lot of fun. Those prints plus Pat’s beloved flowers were perfect to illustrate my version of the Family Gathering table topper!

For the quilting my inspiration was also a very similar idea of the quilting design used on Pat’s book. When you already found a great idea there is no need to change much ;) I decided to add some straight lines 1/2” apart with ruler work with my Border’s Ruler Set and my BERNINA Q20 Sit-down model.
