Me Made Jeans!

Have you ever considered making your own jeans? Here are some tips for you!

With the years, one thing that I’m really finding difficult is to find jeans that I really like. Between super slim fit models, some ripped jeans (like really?! why would I pay for clothes with holes?) and high rise I just can’t find myself so easy anymore… maybe it’s the age ;)

The first step to make your own jeans is in fact to find the right pattern for you. After some Instagram research, I found the “Claryville Jeans” from Workroom Social. It’s a great pattern, very well explained and organized and really all the pieces match perfectly together. To make it work you just need to follow the directions and pay attention to the tips along the way.

One very cool advantage about sewing your own jeans is that you still can use your favorite denim, because some fabric stores sell a lot denim yardage from different brands. Like for my jeans I used Rag & Bone denim that I bought online from Mood Fabrics.

The sky is the limit when you think about customizing your jeans! I chose to use brass rivets, zipper and button on mine. Sometimes, I use my jeans to work and I was looking for a more sophisticated look than the regular daily jeans.

You will probably also develop a different level of appreciation to coin pockets…

And jeans needles!

Featuring: Gütermann 100% polyester thread, color 339 and my granny’s 50 Wedding Anniversary band made it by my great grandfather :)

Have a lot of fun with the possibility to personalize the designs on the back pockets!

And voila, my epic “me made” Claryville jeans!

Happy sewing!
