How prepared are you for Father's Day on Sunday? Well if you're still looking for something special, I found the perfect solution!

Some days ago I received this Father's Day Tie pattern by email from Purl Soho, for FREE! And yesterday I decided to try, of course, with Island Batik!

I will not publish all the fabric requirements because it is not my pattern and the idea is for you to visit their link also. But I can say that it is a pattern for a widest point tie (my favorite style), 55 1/2" long by 3" wide.

After printing the pdf with all the templates (be sure to get the updated version of the pattern), cut it, before you tape them together I would suggest you align the templates by the "Fold" side, sometimes it doesn't match perfectly and you really want to have a straight line on the "Fold" side of each template.

It's an easy going project, even for a quilter with not so much experience with garments like ME! Talking about my quilter side I substitute the Heavyweight Sew in Interfacing for Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Cotton/Poly batting and it worked marvelously.

For machine sewing, I used Schmetz Microtex (Sharp) Needles size 80/12 and Aurifil thread 50wt in colors 2910 and 5023.

And here is my Island Batik version of the Father's Day Tie:

Happy Fathers Day, and Yes! It's my hub's shirt :)
