"All the information in this post were given to me by Island Batik"

If you follow my work, you've probably noticed that since last year I have become addicted to hand dye fabrics and I'm very thrilled to be part of the Island Batik Ambassador program in 2019!

First things first...

Did you know Island Batik has been a leader in the batik industry for over 15 years?!

The company is located in Carlsbad, California but all the fabric dyeing is done in their own manufacturing facility in a small village, in Bali. The art of batik has been practiced for centuries in Indonesia, what makes the Indonesian artists the talented leaders in their field.

Every yard of fabric is created using a wax resist method (a process of using wax and dye) to create patterns and give the fabric outstanding depth and range of color, than the fabrics are laid out in the sun to dry and allow the colors to set. Every yard is made by hand, so the production process takes a while!

Island Batik launches new seasonal lines twice a year, at each International Quilt Market (Spring/May and Fall/October). And you can find the new lines at stores usually after July/August and January/February.

During this year I will be designing original patterns and different ways to show case batik cotton, strips and stacks precuts, stash builder precuts and also products from this program's industry patterns.

Right now, I know that 2 magical boxes are coming my way! So stay tuned for an unboxing facebook live event soon!

And while we wait make sure you check the Island Batik Getaway Blog Hop and visit all of the incredible Island Batik Ambassadors sites to see all of their inspirational creations!

See you soon ;)
